Those commissioned as Ministers of the World become proclaimers of God’s Word. They enable God’s Word to touch the hearts of those assembled through their prayerful and vibrant proclamation of the Word. Their proclamation of Scripture enables parishioners to encounter the Risen Jesus, who is,

 

“…present in his word since it is he himself who speaks when the holy scriptures are read in the Church.” (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, #7 )
